The Mali Uromastyx
Uromastyx are very docile lizards, who after time can be social in nature. They can be attention seeking, and very curious. They sleep nearly the same hours as their owners, since they are diurnal.
A unromantic is more likely to accidentally bite your finger because they missed the food in your hand, than bite out of aggression. They can be easily handled, and seem to enjoy company(Kaplan, M.).
These lizards even get along with other species of lizards, such as the Bearded Dragons shown to the right. Because these two species are similar in environment, socialization within house holds is usually alright given all animals are healthy.
The uromastyx is a reptile recommended for households with children because they are fairly easy to take care of, and friendly enough to be handled by someone inexperienced (Cornett, B).
