The Mali uromastyx eats a mainly vegetarian diet. Plants such as Romaine lettuce, Parsley, carrots and small amounts of fruit are an acceptable diet in captivity(Pet Supplies "Plus"). Insects such as crickets and meal worms are only occasional food, since their amount of protein is not easily digestible(LLLReptile and Supply Company Inc, 2010).
