To provide a fit environment for a uromastyx, you have to have the right heating and lighting, housing, water and furnishing. For heating and lighting you need to have correct type of light bulbs so that the uromastyx will be able to absorb heat and light while basking. For this you will need one UV light, and one that provides only heat. As for the housing you need to have a fairly large enclosure for it, roughly 4 feet by 2 feet would be best, but size may depend on  how many animals, your lizards age and activity level as well (Horton, S, Vanderlinden).

For the water, the uromastyx does not need a lot. Because they live in such extreme conditions, they are used to getting most of their intake through eating vegetables with a high water content such as Romaine lettuce. Baths also can be used as a way for them to absorb water.  Lastly, for the furnishing uromastyxs usually live in the desert with lots of sand, but an easier thing to use is Sani-chips. It is easy to clean and if ingested by uromastyx it is not harmful to their digestive system like an easily obtainable Play-Sand used in children's sandboxes. For a nature-like look, Calci-sand is a calcium based imitation sand that is entirely non-toxic and can be ingested. It is also relatively inexpensive and can bought at most large petstores.             Rocks, Basking logs and hide-spots are required so that the lizard does not get stressed out, and has a place to stay out or in the heat as it pleases (Brooks, R, Donkersgoed).
